An emphasis on arms control and diplomacy when it comes to nuclear, chemical and cyber warfare, creating a national strategy for artifical intelligence and protecting digital privacy are among the priorities coming from John Delaney that you don’t hear a lot about from politicians of either party.

Foreign policy

U.S. foreign policy has struggled for decades in the Middle East.

The country is considering strategies to with draw troops from Iraq and Syria.

The president pulled out of the Iran nuclear deal.

Delaney discussed how he would approach the region.

Artificial intelligence

Delaney has mentioned creating a national strategy for artificial intelligence.

This lacks specifics on his website, but it sounds like he’s an alarmist after watching “The Terminator” too many times.

Delaney clarified what that strategy would be and what pitfalls he has in mind.

Data breaches

Congress has failed to do much if anything when it comes to preventing data breaches.
Delaney talks about protecting digital privacy.

A big issue is who owns this data.

The European Union passed a law says individuals own their data not companies.

Companies can now be fined millions of dollars for each violation.

Delaney shared his thoughts on who owns personal data and if he would duplicate the tough stance the European Union is taking.
